“Encouraged by overwhelming positive feedback after the 75th Anniversary Trial, Falcon Motor Club have elected to run a similar event this year under the guise of the well known March Hare Classic Trial. We plan to run the event to a similar format as the 75th Anniversay Trial with entry open to both cars and motorcycles.

Starting at Porky’s Diner at Honeybourne near Evesham and finishing at Egypt Mill, Nailsworth, the 72 mile route will again include many of the historic sections once used by The Colmore & Guy Fawkes Trials, this year including a section at Kineton, last used around 70 years ago. Many of the sections are ‘gentle’ so those who compete in our field trials or have less capable/older machinery can enjoy the event without undue risk. None of the sections will be rough, but this year there will be a few testing ones on muddy surfaces, so those at the top of the Classic Trials scene will still find the event challenging in places. For those more used to road rallies or field trials, there is the unique experience of travelling over 14 miles of ‘white’ roads with the rest on minor Cotswold lanes and everything prepared with a reasonable ground clearance should be fine on these lanes.

We hope to make the event an annual round of the ACTC championship next year, so this will be a dry run to check we’ve got the level of challenge right – an entry level trial, but with a few ‘stoppers’ to challenge everyone. We are also re-introducing the old Falcon ‘Triple’ award – the Cotswold Stone Trophy, for anyone who can achieve a Gold Medal three years in a row.

Trailer parking is available at the finish in Nailsworth, and a proposed route to follow from there to the start at Honeybourne will be provided.

For car entrants an RS Clubman competition licence is required for both driver & passenger – for motorcycle entrants an ACU licence is required – please ensure you read the event regulations carefully.

The organising team looks forward to receiving your entry. If you are unable to enter, please consider volunteering to marshal by contacting the event secretary with your offer to help.”
