Camel Classic Trial 2018 Regs Available

Camel Vale Motor ClubEntries are now open for the 2018 Camel Classic Trial, to be held on Sunday 2nd December.

2018 Camel Classic Trial Entry Pack

“The Camel Classic Road Trial first ran in 1983 (called the Octo for the first two years) thanks to two new trialers Hans Viertel and Pete Allen. The event flourished every year and soon became a round of the Chester Motor Club Trials Championship and later ACTC and ASWMC Championship rounds. The original organising team of Hans and Pete were still running the event 31 years later in 2014.

Sadly Hans suddenly passed away in 2015 which was a huge loss to Camel Vale Motor Club and the trialling community. Hans was described by many as a true gentlemen and he is greatly missed by all. He really was totally immersed in trials; be it as a competitor, marshall or organising the Camel Classic in December every year. We hope his memory can live on in this event for many years to come.

Again this year the Camel Classic will be run as a dual permit event so that non-championship competitors may enter under the Clubmans permit and will not be required to produce a Competition Licence.

For the first time ever in 2015 we invited motocycle solo’s and outfits to enter the trial. This was a success and all the riders enjoyed the event so we will continue this for future years.

Hope you enjoy the event!

Start Venue : The Borough Arms, Dunmere, Bodmin, PL31 2RD

2019 Clee Hills Trial

Good news, the Clee Hills Trial is back! Put 20th January 2019 in your diary.

The long-standing organising team are now bolstered by some extra willing helpers, bringing their experiences on both 2 and 4 wheels, so January’s event in Shropshire is on the ACTC calendar for 2019.

Open to competitors on 2, 3 and 4 wheels, we aim to continue our track record of getting all classes well matched and equally successful whilst enjoying a great day’s classic trial in the lovely Shropshire scenery.

The route will start and finish from the Squirrel Pub SY8 1LP near Ludlow, next door to an adjacent Travelodge, SY8 1LS, ample trailer parking close by at the Ludlow Park & Ride and fuel on the site too. There’s room for on-site scrutineering which we hope to run both on the evening before and in the morning.

The route is refreshed, featuring more tracks and less mud, yet still running the twin loop system that gets us all done in the mid-winter daylight. Come and have (another) go at epic sections like Priors Holt 1, Hungerford, Jenny Wind and Meadowley Wood.

About 70 miles around Wenlock Edge, along the spectacular ridge of the delightful Long Mynd, some old lanes and some woodland tracks, and relatively non-damaging in our Class 0 option.

The event will run as a Dual Permit, with Clubmans accommodating those entrants without a comps license, for example MCC drivers. VSCC triallers continue to be especially welcome, bringing delight to other drivers’, the marshals and spectators alike.

Further details and entry form/regulations (to follow) from the trial’s upcoming website

Kyrle Trial 2018 Regs Available

Ross & District Motor Sports Club LogoEntries are now open for the 2018 Kyrle Trial, to be held on Sunday 28th October.

2018 Kyrle Trial Entry Pack

“Ross & District Motor Sports Club have pleasure in welcoming you to the 41st running of The Kyrle Trial. Yes, 41 years ago the first Kyrle Trial was organised in April 1977. A single venue event by Richard Andrews up on May Hill and it was won by Eric Wall in his Canhi. I am pleased to say that some of those original organisers are still involved today.

Last year we successfully introduced a Clubman’s trial alongside the main trial. You DO NOT require a Competition Licence for the Clubman’s trial. We also include mandatory Road Traffic Act insurance, which this year costs £8.40 per car and is included in the entry fee.

We are staying with our autumn date to avoid the Goshawks. We will be starting early to make the most of the daylight. Don’t forget, the clocks change the night before the trial. The Clerk of the Course team is the same as last year, Nigel Green and Paul Bartleman. They have been out and about during the summer taking a look at old and new sections and have found some new ones and some that have not been used for many years. Weather wise prepare for anything. Our hills are suitable for all classes and driver skills. We will use some old favourite sections together with the new or resurrected hills, with our October date we have a good portfolio of hills to choose from.

A new start venue this year, unfortunately the café we have used for many years will be closed for refurbishment. The finish of the trial remains at our Club House in Ross-on-Wye where tea, coffee and soft drinks will be available and the bar will be open to help quench honest thirst! Please note the date, Sunday 28th October and come along to marshal if you cannot enter. will be pleased to hear from you at any time on. We look forward to seeing you for another good day’s trialing with around 12 competitive hills and two observed tests. Remember, our hills are not rough, but they are tough and steep.

Nigel Green, Paul Bartleman, Stuart Harrold, John Tatlow, Neil Forrest, Alan & Hilary Baker, Ollie Jenkins and the Organising Team.”

Mechanics Trial 2018 Regs Available

Entries are now open for the 2018 Mechanics Trial, to be held on Sunday 14th October.

2018 Mechanics Trial Entry Pack

“THE MECHANICS TRIAL originates from the late 1970’s when the clubs Headquaters were located at the Mechanics Arms PH in Chalford. The Landlord and landlady, Jim & Liz Polly, presented the Mechanics Trophy to the Club giving us an opportunity to run an event in the pub’s name. The first Mechanics Trial ran in 1979 and was organized by Nigel Moss, Eric and Diana Wall, The single venue Classic Trial was held within a few miles of the pub in Badgers Wood, Cowcombe, Chalford. The event continued to run at various single venues including Catswood and at Sallywood Farm from 1984 to 2001. In 2002 the event ventured out onto the road with Gill and Edwin Hayward doing a great deal of work to create a brand new road trial for the club. Various organizing teams have since kept the event on the road. This year’s event is organised by a similar team to last year with, it will feature old favourite hills such as Wood Lane and Viaduct and will follow a similar format to recent successful years. The trial will include a couple of old sections used on the Cotswold Clouds in the early 80’s, Hobbs Choice, a gentle rocky climb and a tricky old favourite Bulls Cross. The event offers what we hope is a good day’s motorsport visiting some different parts of the Cotswold’s to our Cotswold Clouds Trial in February. The organising team make every effort to give all competitors a chance to climb some sections during the day but also making some a great challenge. The Mechanics Trial will run on a Clubman’s permit which means you do not need a competition licence.

Start Venue : SKF, Oldends Lane, Stonehouse, Gloucestershire, GL10 3RH
